HEL AND HELCO TAX BREAKS:

And as great news, a Home Equity Loan or HELCO Line of Credit that is used for a Solar Project or Home Energy Improvements is a tax benefit write-off of the interest amount accumulated over the year.  Consult your financial tax advisors for details.

There are a variety of banks that lend for Solar projects and their loans are very low interest but carry "Dealer Fees" anywhere from 5% to 38% added onto your total Solar System price.  Please note that these costs may or may not be disclosed in your Solar System contract documents.  Check your Credit/Loan documents carefully for terms.

BENEFITS:

There are some benefits to these loans, for example, many offer credit scores of 640 which allows many people the opportunity to get funded.  If you want to be qualified at the time of purchase, you can then take your time to apply at other lending institutions for better rates and terms.  This is a good way to get started because for most of these loans you can typically pay off the loan anytime without Pre-payment Penalties and is based on simple monthly interest.  Refer to your loan documents and financial advisor for information specific to your situation. 

TIMELY INSTALLATION:

Because it is so quick and easy to qualify for these types of loans, this option decreases the time frame for the Installation that your Solar System will take. This is important so that your energy charging is at its peak performance during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasonal weather patterns here in Washington State. 

LONGER YEARLY TERMS:

Another reason for these Solar loans is that many will fund terms up to 25-years.  This brings your monthly payment down to around $150-$200 per month on an average kWh system and allows you to swap your Electric Bill with a Solar Loan payment and NO down-payment.

FIXED MONTHLY PAYMENTS:

This means that you will never have the common electric company rate increases, monthly swings in costs and your power bill will be FIXED for the length of your loan. Then when it's paid off, you'll have Totally FREE Power from the sun forever! 

Easy monthly budgeting without the terrible surprise each month from the electric company that we all dread. We're given no indication of the costs per month that our power bill will be that makes paying bills a guessing game each month. But no more with a sun-powered Solar System Loan, your Monthly Costs are Fixed.

So needless to say, you've got options to find funding that we will help you with for your Solar System project.  Not just the terms or limited options that your Solar Sales Representative may offer to you at the signing of your Solar System purchase. Read your documents carefully.

Currently, the Solar Net-Metering program provides you with a power backup storage. Essentially, the power company's GRID is your battery back-up paying you $1-for-$1 in Energy Credits on your electric bill, but it wont last forever. Many U.S. State utilities companies have been lowering their payback rates to customers. In Washington State we're still $1-for-$1, but get grandfathered in now as soon as you decide to go Solar.

BECOME TOTALLY ENERGY INDEPENDENT:

Our Solar Battery Back-up Storage Systems can keep your home, ranch, farm or business running during a power outage and store additional power to be used during "Peak Hours of Usage".  Providing you with total Energy Independence from the utilities companies.  But these systems are not inexpensive.   We can also add a Back-up Generator which will kick in during a power outage and save your freezer/refrigerator food investment as well as keep the lights on and give you comfort during a storm. 

30% FEDERAL TAX CREDIT ON/OFF GRID:

The Federal Tax Credit applies 30% off your Battery Back-up Storage System Total whether or not you purchase a Solar System with panels and an inverter.  This tax credit is valid for Standalone Battery Back-up Storage Systems as well for On-Grid and Off-Grid electric power applications.

COMBINE PURCHASES INTO ONE LOAN:

All of the financing covered here allows the Solar System and Battery Back-up Storage System to be put into one loan amount.  Then claim the 30% Federal Tax Credit and No Washington State sales tax of 10% or more on the entire loan amount saving you thousands of dollars. 

And if you are selecting a Home Equity Loan or HELCO Line of Credit, the interest that you pay is also tax deductible for the year and the length of the loan.  The only qualification is that you show proof that the loan funds were used to purchase a Solar System, Battery Back-up or Energy Efficient Home Improvements. Adding a Generator Back-up does not carry the 30% off credit.  Refer to your tax advisor for your specific allowances.
